History of EMAX and the team |
- 1995. The company was setup in 1995; initial market research was completed, by means of interview and discussion with other hotel owners, tourist operators, tourists and divers to the region. Initial funds of 7,000 million US dollars (1995 exchange rate of $1.62 dollars to pounds equaled £4.3 million UK pounds and 1995 Egyptian pounds to UK pounds was 5.2 EGP to the pound or £22.36 million Egyptian pounds).
- 1996. Land acquisition and design plans drawn up, plans approved
- 1997. Foundations dug and foundations started
- 1998. Structure built
- 1999. Finishes to the structure
- 2001. Project paused, as only structure in this part of the desert, awaiting other investors who had purchased land to start developing
- 2005. Q3 restarted project, changes to accommodate fresh market research.
- 2006. Internal structures, lobby structure started, roads built and pool tiling, sealing started
- 2007. Internal decorations and finishing, beginning of this process started, hotel named ‘Seabelle, acquisition of equipment and soft furnishing designs chosen
- 2007. Sourcing of suppliers for stock and finishing’s short listed
